Batman Was Arrested in Michigan

Michigan “Batman” Mark Williams was arrested and charged over the weekend for resisting and obstructing police during an investigation, according to the Petoskey News-Review. Troopers were responding to the scene of an accident where the driver had fled when they met up with Williams.
“When we arrived, [Williams] was at the scene in his Batman outfit. He wouldn’t clear the scene and we had a canine out there and he kept screwing up the scent,” Sgt. Jeff Gorno told the Petoskey News-Review. “He said he wanted to help us look for the driver. We didn’t want the dog to track Batman instead of the accident scene and he was getting in the way of officers who had a job to do.”

In a twist, Batman has himself a Batgirl, who vowed to help him fight this “obstruction of justice,” according to the Smoking Gun.

Wait what? Batman is the good guy.

Christian Bale Visits ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Theater-Shooting Victims

Batman star Christian Bale is in Colorado visiting victims of the shooting at a theater showing “The Dark Knight Rises.”

A Warner Bros. spokeswoman told The Denver Post on Tuesday that Bale is representing himself, not the movie studio.

That’s sweet!

Colorado Shooting at The Dark Knight Rises Movie Screening

A heavily armed man entered a movie theater in suburban Denver early Friday and opened fire, killing at least 12 people and injuring 50 others.
The incident, which took place about 12:30 a.m. at the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colo., occurred during midnight screenings of the new Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises.”

The gunman, who was wearing a gas mask, reportedly set off a smoke or tear gas bomb then walked up to the front of the screen in one of the theaters and opened fire.

When the movie patrons realized the attack was real and not part of the movie, pandemonium erupted and they began to flee. The film continued to play on the screen as bloodied customers took refuge outside. According to witnesses on the scene, some of the bullets also went through the walls of an adjacent theater, injuring patrons.

Soon after receiving a flood of 911 calls, hundreds of police officers, ambulance and emergency crews arrived on the scene.

The suspect was found near a car behind the theater and arrested. He was dressed in black, carrying a knife, rifle and a handgun, and wearing a bulletproof vest.

“He did not resist,” police spokesman Frank Fania. “He did not put up a fight.”

The police originally announced that 14 people had been killed in the attack, but revised the death toll around 7:45 a.m. ET, NBC News reported.

How safe are we, and who’s really keeping us safe? Our prayers go out to each person affected/hurt/and killed by this horrible tragic.

Batman dies in ‘Dark Knight Rises’?

Director Christopher Nolan’s take on Batman has always been darker, grittier and more realistic, but now he and his fellow series creators have told Empire magazine that “The Dark Knight Rises” may come to a definitive end. Will Batman have to die to bring closure to the trilogy?
The director’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, certainly makes it seem that way.
“It’s the right way to end it — to blow the whole thing up!” he told Empire. “It’s better than trying to spin the thing out indefinitely and make it into the Bond franchise.”

Still, some tales are meant to be tragic. What if Romeo and Juliet had run off and lived out their days in love and happiness, or if Humphrey Bogart’s Rick had stayed with Ilsa in “Casablanca”? Tragedy in film helps position the moral compass of society, exposing the natural vulnerability and flaws of people through on-screen characters.

To see misery unfold unrelentingly on screen or in text is one of the greatest forms of catharsis we can experience. For a hyper-affluent, handsome, righteous hero like Batman to die would be a blow to the good-triumphs-over-evil trope that is so thoroughly ingrained in Western cultural and religious traditions. The good figure — the Christ figure — must always rise after being beaten down; yet, as anyone struck by tragedy knows, this is not always the case in real life.

Batman’s death would be the only satisfying conclusion to this trilogy that has seen its own fair share of heartbreak with the death of Heath Ledger, who played The Joker in “The Dark Knight.”

Still, his death would upend the first rule of superheroes: They are beyond human and therefore out of reach of death’s mighty grasp. Batman as a symbol of good over evil is forever immortal. The character Bruce Wayne’s fate, however, is up in the air.

But is his death absolutely necessary for a satisfying ending to Nolan’s series?

“You’ve given them everything,” a distressed Catwoman says in the trailer, whereupon Batman forebodingly replies: “Not everything. Not yet.”

That sucks – it’s Batman…..No happy ending…. At least let him an iPad….We like the batman movie from 1989 it was all happy….lol♥
